Hello ! My name is Jessica Kelly and I am from Charlotte, North Carolina. I’ve had a passion for art since I was a young girl. My childhood was spent in nature drawing and painting. My early artworks were non- representational paintings using line, shape and vivid color. My passion for art led me to North Carolina A&T for media design, then Howard Univiersity for my MFA in painting. Since then, I’ve became an Art Professor and mentor for young creatives. My current artwork explores the relationship between humans and nature expressed through symbols, forms and vibrant colors. My work is influenced by the cultural experiences of indigenous people using mixed media practices. I express beauty, femininity, unity, pain and pleasure in my pieces. I use art to tell stories, connect with my community and record history through meaningful images.
