My life began in Edenton, a small eastern North Carolina town, the only child of Golden and Ruth Frinks. School life was full of activities from first grade to graduation, with academic and extracurricular activities. College was a continuation of an active school life.
I always seemed to have leadership roles assigned to me. After college, I began my career as a teacher. I progressed in my career from classroom teacher to administrator. My love for learning motivated me to earn a doctorate degree in education.
I became a community activist which led to my current role on Greensboro City Council, representing district 2.
