Revered NC singer-songwriter, performer, poet, and painter, David Childers is known for his gritty voice and vivid storytelling. Blending folk, rockabilly, and country, he’s released over a dozen albums. David Childers is a native of Mt. Holly, NC and was a practicing attorney for 3 decades. For the past 10 years he has been focusing on songwriting, performing, and art. He attributes his success to his band members, his love of words and writing, and his avid reading of books since an early age. His fans particularly admire and appreciate his integrity and authenticity.
Influenced by Bob Dylan, Merle Haggard, Elvis and many other artists, his love of words expanded into his own poetry, songs, and writings. He has toured the U.S. and Europe, collaborated with members of The Avett Brothers, and performed on MerleFest’s main stage. He will be inducted into The North Carolina Music Hall of Fame on October 16, 2025, one of the highest honors in this state!
David's lyrics tend to explore themes of love, loss, spirituality and hope, and redemption. He draws from literature, spirituality, and everyday life to craft songs rich in soul and substance. In August 2024, Childers was diagnosed with stage four colon cancer and has not able to perform much while getting treatment. However, he has made a lot of progress battling the disease, while still engaging, when possible, with performing music and creating art. The ‘Boro Sessions worked with David to select a performance date that falls comfortably between his continuing cancer treatments. We are very fortunate to bring him back to Greensboro, after a year of focusing on his treatment.
Dylan Robert Walshe is an Irish folk music singer-songwriter. Born and raised in southeast Dublin, he is based in Black Mountain, North Carolina. He has toured with Flogging Molly, Avatar, The White Buffalo, The Mahones and recorded with James Fearnley of The Pogues.
