Bob Bedell & Doug Baker at Common Grounds Saturday Songwriters

Bob Bedell is a singer-songwriter out of Pittsboro, NC, who has been writing and performing original for decades. The last few years, Bob has turned his focus from playing in bands to being a solo singer-songwriter.  He writes with an eclectic style of Americana pulling from indie folk/rock, alt-country, and blues.  His songwriting is ambitious and endearing, leaning on love, loss, understanding, renewal, and reaction for the clarity found in life.  He is currently working on his first solo album.  

Doug Baker has been a fixture in the Greensboro music scene since graduating from the UNCG’s School of Music in 1978. A versatile artist, Baker has played everything from power-pop to avant-garde improvisations. In 2021, he released his debut solo album, Navigating Life, which author Eddie Huffman praised for its musical range and "quirky, lighthearted touch reminiscent of John Prine and Loudon Wainwright III." Beyond his own work as a performer and songwriter, Baker is dedicated to music education, offering lessons in guitar, ukulele, bass, and songwriting.
