I am fortunate to serve as the Principal Timpanist for the Greensboro Symphony, Salisbury Symphony, and Winston-Salem Symphony. I perform frequently with the Philidor Percussion Group and my duo Amphion Percussion. I also play regularly with small groups and bands on timpani, keyboard percussion, drum set, steel pan, and other percussion instruments.
I have been fortunate to learn from many teachers who have inspired me to teach and perform. The goals of my teaching are to catalyze students' potential into expressive and creative achievement, to develop students' individual voices by connecting healthy, efficient, and effective technique with versatile musicianship, and to give students tools to be independent musicians and self-directed learners.
During the school year, I teach percussion lessons in the Greensboro Cultural Center, and in the summer, I am on the Instrumental Music faculty at North Carolina Governor's School West. I have had the pleasure of teaching through many institutions at the collegiate and pre-college levels in North Carolina and in New York state. I also give presentations, masterclasses, and residencies to support students and music educators at all levels.
